Fitness certificate FAQs

What is a medical fitness certificate?

A fitness certificate is a doctor-issued document confirming you are medically fit for a specific purpose — such as joining duty, resuming work after illness or surgery, or general fitness clearance.

Can I get a fit-to-work certificate online after recovering from illness?

Yes. A doctor reviews your recovery through a telemedicine consultation and, where appropriate, issues a fit-to-resume-work or post-illness recovery clearance certificate.

Do companies accept online fitness certificates for joining duty?

Yes. Certificates issued by NMC-registered doctors are valid for HR onboarding and return-to-work requirements, and each MCME certificate can be verified through its QR code and certificate ID.

What does the fitness certificate include?

Your name, the fitness statement (such as fit to join duty or fit to resume work), the doctor's name and NMC registration number, signature, issue date, and a QR verification link.

How long does it take to get a fitness certificate online?

Within 15–30 minutes on Priority or Premium Care, and within 1–2 hours on Basic Care, once the doctor completes the review.
